/  HAND POSTING GUIDELINES

GUIDELINES TO POSTGRADUATE MASTERS STUDENTS IN HAND POSTING

 

  1. UM Basic Microsurgery Course is a compulsory course to attend in first or second week of hand posting.

  2. Pre-op Round is scheduled on every Tuesday after hand teaching.

  3. Tuesday Hand teaching:

    • Topics to be presented shall follow this schedule.

    • It is compulsory to send your clinical photos; pre, intra and post-op (including ppt slides), to be uploaded in Google Drive/ Online cloud.

    • Previous hand teaching topics can be retrived here.

    • Rehab visit (teaching) at Menara Selatan is held every 4 months.

    • Hand teaching: 5 BAQs to be prepared by the presenter & submit 1 day before to zatirazak@um.edu.my. 

  4. It is compulsory to send case report at the end of the posting, to be submitted with the yellow assessment form - hardcopy (can be obtained from Puan Haniza at Orthopaedic Department). Students to submit case report online via Spectrum UM and hardcopy/ softcopy to the respective supervisor & hand surgery's email (handsurgery@um.edu.mybefore or on the last date of the posting.

  5. To upload all pre and post-op photos and oncall/referral photos online as instructed by lecturers.

  6. Drs would need to view this WALANT hand teaching video recording at this link (login using siswamail ID) before joining hand posting.

  7. The previous hand e-teaching recordings can be accessed through this link (login using siswamail ID).

  8. Checklist to complete before finishing hand posting:

  • Complete presentation slides (post-op and pre-op) presented during hand posting.​

  • Case report & yellow form

  • Pre/post op photos upload

  • CTR assessment

  • Complete students logbook x 2
